Juan Santaella, CEO - Denarii Systems' newly appointed CEO was formerly with MasterCard Worldwide as head of Debit Product Development for the Latin America and Caribbean region. In this role, Mr. Santaella was responsible for a 185 million card portfolio in over 27 markets. Mr. Santaella introduced several new products with MasterCard, including cash back, installment cards and MasterCard Mobile Payments. Mr. Santaella has more than 16 years of experience in the Payment Card Industry with emphasis on debit and prepaid product strategy, new product functionality, industry competitive analysis, pricing, promotional and marketing initiatives and client delivery. Prior to working at MasterCard, Mr. Santaella was the Vice President of Account Management and Development for eFunds Corporation, overseeing the LAC and AP operations. Before joining eFunds, Mr. Santaella held various leadership roles including CEO for Cash X, Inc., Country Manager for DeRamate.com, as well as Vice President of Product Development for Visa International. A native of Venezuela, Mr. Santaella received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Miami, and his Masters in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College in Boston, Massachusetts.
Teodoro (“Teddy”) Alban, CFA - As newly appointed Chief Financial Officer, Teddy brings 18 years of international finance and treasury expertise to Denarii Systems. He was previously Corporate Treasurer at Weatherford International Ltd., a $10 billion diversified oilfield services provider. Before that, he spent 3 years with FMC Technologies, Inc., a sub-sea oil production hardware manufacturer, where he held the position of Director, Corporate Finance & Risk Management. While living in Brussels, Belgium, Teddy spent 5 years with General Motors’ finance group in Brussels, Belgium, where he held several roles in FX, Cash Management, Capital Markets, Corporate Finance / M&A, and Business Development. Teddy also brings extensive international experience, particularly in Latin America and Europe. A native of Ecuador, after completing his undergraduate education, he spent 8 years working in his home country as credit analyst, investment banker and founder of an industrial manufacturing start-up venture. Mr. Alban received his B.Sc. in Mechanical (Aerospace) Engineering from Brown University and his Masters in Finance (M.Sc.) from the London Business School. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Omar Arab, CIO – Mr. Arab has worked in the IT Industry
for more than twenty years. He has successfully implemented several
Go-to-Market strategies for enterprise development, software startups and
digital global companies. Omar has experience with increasing sales and decreasing
turnover at several companies, along with the development of strategic sales
plans and new technologies. Mr. Arab served as Managing Director of Modena
Technologies Capital Partners, a venture capital and private equity group
focused on digital technology-based companies with $50M in deals closed with 35
startup companies. Previously, he was the CEO at Patagonia Technologies, Vice
President at AgentisSoftware, Operational Vice President at GarageLatino.com, Senior
Partner at Efiltro (McKinsey & Co) and the Organizer at TedxBuenosAires.org.
Omar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Systems from the Universidad Tecnológica
Nacional de Mendoza in Argentina and Post-graduate degrees in IT Management and
Strategic Marketing from Stanford University.
Edward (Ted) Moffly, COO/CCO - Ted is the former CFO of IP Gear (OTC-BB NWBD), an enterprise VoIP company. Before IP Gear, Ted was CEO of Spin Networks, a security software company based in Toronto and Brazil. Spin Networks wrote the core operating system that runs the automated Federal Election System in Brazil, which manages over 500,000 terminals. Mr. Moffly was also the CEO of Synergyx, an IP integration company. Mr. Moffly in conjunction with Synergyx as the prime contractor, built the first commercially viable prepaid electronic PIN delivery platform for Blackstone and Hypercom. Ted did his undergraduate work at Columbia University and has an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.
Jose Enrique Perez, Chief Security Officer and VP Acquiring Services - Enrique has over 20 years of core technology experience in the Point of Sale industry, payment processing and financial service industries. Mr. Perez was Managing Director and CTO of Rahaxi Processing OY. He held business model accountability for this transaction processing firm based in Finland where he formulated the corporate vision and provided strategic guidance on processing technologies and operations. One of his primary achievements there was to certify the host link to China Union Pay into Europe. Prior to Rahaxi, Mr. Perez was the Senior Vice President and Chief of Software Development for Hypercom Corporation where for 14 years he led the worldwide software organization. Mr. Perez was the founder of Hypercom Russia and Hypercom Latvia both centers of technology excellence for Hypercom, where he pioneered the Optimum 32-bit technology. Mr. Perez holds a BS in Physics from the University of Havana, an MBA with specialization in ecommerce from Barrington University AL, and a PhD in Physics from Azerbaijan University. He also has an e-Business Strategy certificate from Thunderbird International School of Global Management.
Manuel Núñez, EVP Electronic Distribution - Manuel Núñez brings more than 15 years experience in the establishment and development of international business operations in the Americas and Europe. He has focused in the last 12 years in the strategic development and implementation of in-country and cross-border electronic distribution networks for prepaid products and services, targeting the underserved and unbanked populations of Latin America and Central Europe and their immigrant communities in the US and Western Europe. Prior to joining Denarii Systems, Mr. Nuñez worked for Via One Corporation in New York City, as Senior VP of Global Markets, responsible for the expansion of their international distributions networks. Manuel, also worked for Emida, a global prepaid solutions provider as their General Manager based in Mexico City and VP of Operations and Commercial Development, based in Miami, Florida.
Ray Barnes, Chief Strategist - Mr. Barnes is the former CAO of Visa International and member of Visa’s ten-man global Management Executive Committee. He has extensive and global experience in the issuing (credit and debit) and acquiring industry and has served on the board of numerous banks and financial institutions worldwide. He provides key insight and support into the global payment space for Denarii.
